their time, our time...

I got to see the second to last performance of Ragtime at the Neil Simon on Saturday night. I haven't cried that much in the theatre... well... ever. I remember the first time I listened to "Till We Reach That Day" when I was 16 in my car. I had to pull over and cry for about five minutes. I have been obsessed with the score ever since, but I have never gotten to see it on stage. And I am so happy that I saw it... and in the front row (thank you Caroline Dooner and your lottery luck!) What an amazing production. I hope everyone who wanted to got to see it!

Speaking of wonderful things closing, the last performance of Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier with my beloved Renée Fleming and Susan Graham starring is happening on January 15! Please go see it... just to weep during the third act trio if nothing else. It has been my favorite opera by far this season.

On a completely different note, I finally tried a green tea frappuccino at Starbucks the other day and was pleasantly surprised. If you have a few extra calories to spare in your day, go check it out... no whip of course.

That's all for now. Hope you had a fabulous holiday and New Year. Here's to 2010! It's going to be the year. And Veuve Clicquot is my favorite champagne. Cheers! Till next time...
